NYC Marriage Proposal with Custom Art & Floral Decor • Muriel Guépin Gallery, NYC

We've been providing decor and lighting for marriage proposals for a few years now, and they've become one of our favorite types of events. There's something so fun and exhilarating about playing a role in a grand surprise, and being a part of one of the most memorable days of someone's life. This proposal took place in Chinatown at a lovely art gallery, the Muriel Guépin Gallery.

Marvin and Michele, the planners from The Heart Bandits, thought of every detail: a mariachi band to come out after the proposal, "extras" to act as gallery patrons so that the gallery wasn't empty, and a fabric cover to pull away revealing a canvas that reads Casate Conmigo (Marry Me). They chose us to provide a custom printed canvas and two beautiful white floral arrangements.

Eggsotic Events partnered with The Heart Bandits to create a whimsical, personalized marriage proposal for Natan (Nate) and Caroline at the View of the World Terrace Club in the Financial District of NYC.

Marvin and Michele Velasquez created The Heart Bandits, a marriage proposal and romantic event planning company, and have since planned proposals for clients from all over the world. Their unique line of work has been featured in The New York Times.

Nate's proposal featured a heart that we custom-produced for the proposal. It featured a beautiful love poem that Nate wrote for Caroline, which read as follows:

To my most beautiful and better half!

As I look into the future as far as I can see,
I can see nothing except you being with me.
Through your eyes I only see that you are the one.

I love you since the first moment I saw you
Every time I think about you I see an amazing heart!
In your smile I see you love and your perfection!

You are in all of my dreams whether I'm awake or asleep,
My love for you is so deep that there are no words to describe it.

The Lord has made our paths meet forever.
He has an amazing plan for our lives together.

Today I'm not just telling you how much I love you!
But to ask you to be together from now on and forever.

I ask you permission to take your heart to be with me.
I promise to take care of you, and always guide you in love and wisdom.

With very deep affection this is how I choose to be with you forever

Along with this beautiful custom heart, Eggsotic provided LED wireless lighting, large floral arrangements with white roses and white orchids, and an aisle made of simple orchid arrangements, LED pillar candles, and pewter lanterns.

Nate led Caroline to the View of the World Terrace Club, then surprised her by arriving at this beautiful setting:

From a production perspective, this event was such an interesting challenge: the logistics of making sure that every detail was perfect, and that our install crew was gone before the couple arrived. Also, every element we used had to be designed to stay safely in place on a windy rooftop terrace.

When we arrived to break down the lighting and decor, we found Nate and Caroline, newly engaged and still absolutely beaming about Nate's proposal. Congratulations to Nate and Caroline, and best wishes for a lifetime of happiness together!

Trade Shows With a Twist: Pepcom in NYC • Metropolitan Pavilion, NYC

Pepcom is an innovative series of tech industry trade shows held four times each year in NYC, and elsewhere internationally. Eggsotic Events provides props, decor and display equipment for all of Pepcom's NYC events.

What makes Pepcom such a unique trade show experience is that each event is themed. From Roman Holiday to Anime to Vintage Baseball, Pepcom always finds new ways to keep things interesting. At Eggsotic, we love having the honor of collaborating with the Pepcom team to design eye-catching theme decor.

Here's one example of a Pepcom event with a Vintage NY Baseball theme:

Eggsotic created a brick bar surround with custom signage and an astroturf bar front.

The entry display featured American flag bunting, vintage baseball banners, and a custom ticket booth.

Here's a recent Pepcom hosted at Hammerstein Ballroom, where they chose The Graduate (movie) as the theme for the dads & grads shopping season.

Here's a TV Moms & Dads Theme, focusing on vintage family TV shows:

Each fall, Pepcom has a wine theme. Each year, it focuses on wines from different regions, including Chile, Sonoma Valley, Argentina and New York State.

We'll post new photos periodically as we continue to provide decor for new themes.

NYC Theme Bar Mitzvah at Brooklake Country Club

For our first bar mitzvah of 2013, we were asked to create centerpieces based on New York City's cultural landmarks. The mitzvah honoree is very involved in the arts, so we emphasized art culture throughout the decor.

We featured iconic films such as King Kong, famous places such as The High Line and Broadway, and classic events such as Tribeca Film Festival.

Every centerpiece was completely unique in style and composition. The eclectic mix created a sense of an art gallery displayed throughout the 22 tables.

A King Kong centerpiece includes an Empire State Building statue, mirror cube, King Kong images, and an army of toy soldiers.

Our Statue of Liberty bust statue is always a hit.

A gorgeous carousel horse statue represented the iconic Central Park Carousel.

Our client wanted street food to be represented in one of the tables. We used our giant hamburger, along with images of street food carts and fresh food accents.

These famous coffee cups are all but extinct now in NYC, but we found them and built a tower of them. We also illuminated one of our cube foundations with blue LEDs and added images.

For our Little Italy centerpiece, we featured carved wood candle holders, an assortment of preserved and prop foods, fresh pasta, and images of Little Italy. We even included Egil's favorite: lots of fresh garlic.
